Statics
Statics- By Beer/ Johnston
Chapter 4- Static Equilibrium of Rigid Bodies
Static Equilibrium in 2D

In this section you will learn to apply what you learned in previous chapters for statics. You will break forces into components (x, y) and take moments about points. The only difference in this section is that you set them equal to zero. Setting them equal to zero is what is referred to as "static equilibrium". If someone was to ask you what is "statics" then that would be a great description, all of the forces balance (forces equal zero) and the object is not rotating (moments equal zero).
