Scalar Product of Two Vectors



 
In this section we will be reviewing scalar products, also know as the "Dot Product". The dot product is used in statics to:

  1) Find the angle between two lines (or vectors).

  2) Projecting a force or moment onto a line. That may seem strange why you would want to do that but there are applications when this comes in handy. This will be discussed in a later section.
